⚗️ Quantum Refinery
Refine ores from your Quantum Storage into ingots — no physical refinery blocks needed. Two simultaneous slots run in the background, even while you're offline.
📖 How It Works
Normally in Space Engineers, you build a Refinery block, feed it ore, power it, and wait for ingots. The Quantum Refinery does the same thing — but without you needing to build anything. It runs in the background on the server, pulling ore directly from your Quantum Storage and depositing ingots back into it. It even works while you're offline.
This does NOT replace in-game refineries. It is intentionally much slower. Think of it as a passive trickle of ingots — set it up, go do other things (or log off), and come back to free ingots.
🔢 2 Simultaneous Slots
Every player gets 2 slots. Each slot works independently — you can refine Iron in Slot 1 and Gold in Slot 2 at the same time. Both refine simultaneously. If you want to refine the same ore twice as fast, set both slots to the same ore.
⏱️ Slow & Steady
The refinery processes a small amount of ore every ~30 seconds. This is not fast. It is a long-term background system. Expect results over hours and days, not minutes. Check in periodically with !qr view.
📦 Ore Pulled From QS
The refinery pulls ores from your Quantum Storage. You must deposit ores into QS first using !qs store, !qs storegrid, or !qs storeblock. If you run out of a particular ore, that slot simply waits — it does not fail or lose anything.
🏭 Ingots Back To QS
Produced ingots first go into a temporary buffer. At the end of each cycle, the buffer is automatically emptied into your Quantum Storage. If the buffer is full, refining pauses until space is available — no action needed from you.

🆕 First-Time Setup
Never used the refinery before? Here's exactly what to do:
!qs store
Puts all ores in your character inventory into Quantum Storage.
!qr set 1 Iron
Tells Slot 1: "Your job is to refine Iron Ore."
!qr set 2 Gold
Tells Slot 2: "Your job is to refine Gold Ore."
!qr start 1
Starts Slot 1. It begins pulling Iron Ore from QS.
!qr start 2
Starts Slot 2. Now both slots are working.

Check your progress. You can do this any time — even from Discord with /player refinery manage.
That's it. You can now log off. The refinery keeps working. Tomorrow, your Iron and Gold ingots will be waiting in your Quantum Storage.
⌨️ In-Game Commands
All Quantum Refinery commands use the !qr prefix. Every player can use them — no special permissions needed.

No params
Shows everything about your refinery — what each slot is doing, how much ore is loaded, how many ingots you've made, what's in your buffer, and whether you have any boosts active. This command is read-only — it does not change anything. Use it any time you want to check your progress.

Starts a specific refinery slot so it begins pulling ore and producing ingots. Requirement: The slot must already have an ore type set (use !qr set first). If you try to start an empty slot, it will tell you to set an ore type first.

What happens if you run out of ore: The slot goes idle and waits. It does not stop or fail. As soon as you deposit more of that ore into QS, it resumes automatically at the next cycle.

Stops a running refinery slot. You lose nothing: any ore that was loaded into the slot is refunded back to your Quantum Storage. Already-produced ingots are kept. If the slot is already stopped, the command is harmless (it still responds with "stopped").

!qr set

Sets the ore type for a refinery slot — tells it what to refine. This is the main configuration command. Important: You do NOT need to manually stop a slot before changing its ore type. !qr set handles everything for you.
- Stops the slot (if it was running)
- Refunds any loaded ore of the old type to your QS
- Resets the ingot counter to zero
- Sets the new ore type
- Restarts the slot automatically (if it was running before)

Slot 2 set to refine Gold.
!qr set 1 Thorium
Slot 1 set to refine Thorium. (Previous ore refunded, counter reset, auto-restarted if it was running.)

Quick check: do you have any store-purchased boosts active on your refinery? Gives a simple yes/no answer. For detailed boost information, use !qr view which shows the [Boosted] tag.

💬 Discord Commands
Manage your refinery from Discord — view status, start/stop slots, and change ore types with an interactive panel. You must have linked your Discord account to your game account first (see Discord Integration).

Opens an interactive panel showing your full refinery status — all slots, buffer, and production. Each slot has a dropdown menu where you can pick Start, Stop, Set Ore (choose from a list of all available ores), or Overview (refresh). A Refresh button updates the numbers. Works even when you are not logged into the game.
⭐ Boosts & Store
Support the server and boost your refining capability. Visit the donation portal to purchase refinery upgrades. Boosts take effect immediately and persist until changed or removed.
🔢 Extra Slots
Unlock more than the default 2 slots. With 3 slots you can refine Iron, Gold, AND Thorium all simultaneously.
⚡ Speed Boost
Multiplies how much ore each slot processes per cycle. A 2x boost means twice the ore refined in the same time.
📈 Yield Boost
Multiplies ingot output. A 1.5x boost means 50% more ingots from the exact same amount of ore.
📦 Buffer Boost
Multiplies your buffer capacity. A larger buffer means more ingots can accumulate before transferring to QS.
Use !qr boost in-game or /player refinery manage in Discord to check your current boost status. !qr view shows the [Boosted] tag if any boost is active.
💡 Tips & Common Questions
🔁 Can I refine the same ore in both slots?
Yes! Set both Slot 1 and Slot 2 to the same ore for double the throughput.
💤 Does it work while I'm offline?
Yes. The refinery runs on the server continuously. Set your slots, log off, and ingots accumulate.
🔄 What if I run out of ore in QS?
The slot goes idle and waits. It won't fail or lose anything. Deposit more ore and it resumes at the next cycle.
🛡️ Do I lose ore when stopping a slot?
No. Loaded ore is always refunded to your QS. Already-produced ingots are kept.
🛑 Why is my slot paused?

📦 Where do my ingots go?

🏭 Does this replace in-game refineries?
No. It's intentionally much slower. Use in-game refineries for bulk, fast refining. This is a passive supplement.
